John Tosh was tasked with creating the branding for Amigos Coffee, a startup coffee shop on the sun-drenched island of Gran Canaria, home to a charming population of geckos. The shop’s identity had to reflect the island’s endless sunshine, so John infused the branding with bright, sunny visuals, incorporating the friendly geckos to add a local, welcoming touch. In addition to developing the brand, John also designed the website and created the graphic design and typesetting for the menus, ensuring that the styles remained cohesive across all platforms.

When the coffee shop later relocated to the UK, John reimagined the branding to embrace a Cuban vibe, introducing warmer tones and a more tropical, inviting atmosphere, while still maintaining the spirit of the original concept. The transition of the brand across locations showcases John’s versatility and skill in creating designs that resonate with different markets.
